TEPS vs ExpressDigital

Because I would like to respond to all at once, I post this response to a couple of private emails that I have gotten saying that I don't have actual reasons for picking ExpressDigital over TEPS, or stating that TEPS does everything that ED does here is this. It is 5 reasons why I have chosen ED over TEPS. This is my score card only.

Reason #1

This is the Photo Library page. It has all of my catalogs, sorted by event type in a database. From here I can post catalogs for sale online, I can create local orders but most importantly I can very easily manage all of my jobs for the current period. I usually will archive jobs out of the system 3 months after a season ends.
ExpressDigital – 1 TEPS – 0.

Reason #2

This is the Photo Workshop page. From here I make all of my adjustments and add borders. I do realize that TEPS can likely do most of these things as well, but it isn't laid out like this. Why does that matter? I never have someone that can't judge color sit down to edit my images. I quite often have people that aren't familiar with ED software. Having things visually presented well shortens training time and improves productivity.
ExpressDigital – 2 TEPS – 0.

Reason #3.

This is the package group setup in ED. With this tool I can create a package group for a given league or event that has borders preapplied to the print item. Make a selection and the border is there. I can further post those images online and sell the borders. TEPS has none of this. At all. I can't sell online with them and I also would have to manually select every border.
ExpressDigital – 3 TEPS – 0.

Reason #4

This is the New Orders tab. From here every job that I currently have is listed along with it's status in the print que. Orders that are created locally and orders from the Internet drop in to this page. Doesn't exist at all in TEPS.
ExpressDigital – 4 TEPS – 0.

Reason #5

This is the completed orders tab. Why does this matter? Ever spell a kids name wrong? Ever have the Postal Service damage a package? As opposed to recreating that order why not just drop back here and correct the job and reprint? Seems simple to me. Maybe not to others.
ExpressDigital – 5 TEPS – 0.

These are 5 reasons off the top of my head. Things that I couldn't do without. I didn't even mention this one: That is Border Workshop. TEPS? So, let's review. TEPS is $1,995. ExpressDigital Darkroom Professional $1,395. For $600 more I get to give up 5 (6) features that I can't live without and that can't be found in TEPS. I am not saying that TEPS is not good software. I have used it and I do actually like it. This isn't Mac vs. PC. I have 4 Macs still and the least of them (400 Mhz G4 with 1 GB RAM) would run TEPS quite well. It is about the software money that I spend meeting my needs. TEPS simply doesn't do it for me. ExpressDigital does.
